Regular Worship
At New Abbey Church Sunday morning worship is at 9.30am. At Maxwelltown West morning worship is held every Sunday at 11.00 am. On Remembrance Sunday the service begins at 10.45 am. There are occasional joint services intimated in advance.
Communion
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated five times a year in Maxwelltown West on the first Sunday of March at 11am, on the first Sunday of June and September and on the first Sunday of December. A less formal Communion Service is held on the last Sunday of the year at 11.00 am.
In New Abbey, Communion is held twice a year.
Additional Services
Morning Prayer at 9.30am on weekdays is held at Maxwelltown West, followed by Breaking of Bread at the manse, unless otherwise intimated.
Lochduhar Care and Nursing Home hosts a monthly service on the last Thursday of the month at 2.30 pm.
Hymns and Bible
We use CH4 (The Church Hymnary, Fourth Edition) together with additional hymns and songs, which are projected onto a screen.
Children in Church
Children are always welcome in church.
